The historical drama for 2006 is a life story of Chiyo Yamauchi, known for her sharp political sense and deep trust in her husband, supported her husband Kazutoyo Yamauchi in his struggle to rise to a feudal lord. Kazutoyo survived the Age of the Civil War changing his masters from Nobunaga Oda, to Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and finally to Ieyasu Tokugawa. He eventually becomes the lord of the Tosa Domain supported by Chiyo's political advice and encouragement. Based on a novel by Ryotaro Shiba, the drama portrays how Chiyo helps her stubborn but honest husband succeed in the competitive society.
