When Jane Grant (Charisma Carpenter, late of TV's "Angel"), a beautiful, witty assistant editor at a publishing company is given a project, she is hopeful it will earn her the much-deserved, long overdue promotion she has been waiting six years for. Little does she know the crucial project assigned to her is editing arrogant soap opera diva Natasha "The Gnat" Nutley's (Holly Marie Combs, TV's "Charmed") memoirs--who also happens to be Jane's former high school nemesis. In an attempt to impress Natasha, Jane tells her she lives on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with her doctor boyfriend--when in fact she lives on the Lower East Side and hasn't been on a date in over a year. Her cousin Dana (Kim Schraner) and Aunt Ina (Linda Dano) soon learn of this little white lie and invite Jane's nonexisant significant other to Dana's quickly approaching wedding.
