Brass and Sofia careen through city streets in a high speed shoot-out. Hot on the suspect’s trail, the police cars dodge gunfire while trying to apprehend the vehicle as its passengers fire automatic rifles out the back window. When the suspects’ car flips, the gunfight turns into a foot-chase that culminates in the deaths of three suspects and a rookie cop. A fourth suspect manages to escape, all while neighbors watch the scene unfold from their homes.

The CSI team sifts through miles of evidence to determine who is responsible for the death of a rookie cop, as the question of why an armed car would engage the police in a gunfight remains unanswered. When Grissom discovers the vic had a genetic disorder resulting in uncontrollable hunger, the team follows the evidence to find who tried to cash in on Jerry’s misfortune by entering him in the contest.

Picnicking at a neighborhood park, Karen Matthews realizes her young son Jesse has vanished. The CSI team responds, interviewing witnesses and searching for signs of the boy. Jesse is later spotted in a convenience store with a couple, and the male fits the description given by witnesses in the park. Brass arrests the couple, who claim to be Jesse’s genetic parents. DNA proves them right, and suspicion switches to Karen herself. However, when toothbrush DNA reveals Karen does have a son, the CSIs search for the real Jesse Matthews, and discover how far a mother will go to protect her kin.
Meanwhile, Grissom discloses to Catherine the story of his father’s mysterious death. Kelly Gordon, recently released from prison, pays Nick a visit at the lab.

Under the glimmer of a full moon, the CSIs encounter a strange case, even for them. The team is surprised to learn that a victim shot down in the living room of his rural Las Vegas home is more than just a little hairy- he’s got a pelt. The hairy victim is brought back to the lab where Dr. Robbins explains to Grissom the particulars of Hypertrichosis, the genetic disease that has caused the victim, killed by a single silver bullet, to display excessive hair growth and apparently be mistaken by his killer for a real life werewolf.

After a night of heavy partying in the wild Las Vegas nightclubs, Bianca and Chelsea stumble home to find Bianca’s boyfriend has been stabbed to death in the garage. Grissom and Warrick arrive at the scene of the crime and postulate that Bianca and Chelsea might be to blame; ultimately trying to extract the male from their threesome. Upon examination of the sex stains on the sheets, DNA reveals that Chelsea is Bianca’s mother and has slept with Ahren, the vic. The CSI’s deduce that Bianca has had a string of recent relationships. The first relationship with a telephone repairman, whose tool was tied to the scene of the crime, the second with a tweaker whose blood was found in her bedroom, and lastly Ahren, the deceased motocross athlete. With three suspects showing motivated means, the CSI’s have to determine if the killer is one of Bianca’s heartbroken beaus or mommy dearest.

Erwin Nash is asleep in a crummy studio apartment when he is kicked awake by ex-con “Red,” aka Karl Cooper, who shoots him in the chest and mouth to settle an old score. Karl is an expert, cautious not to leave any trace of himself behind. He is carefully driving away from the scene free and clear when a convertible hops an intersection and crashes into him. Out of the convertible rushes Ally Sullivan, a young local party girl who insists on calling the police to file a report. Karl does not want police involved, and makes an instinctual decision fueled by self-preservation.

An emaciated female corpse is found in the desert – head shaved, a hand missing, and a number branded into her arm. The vic is identified as Zoe Kessler, the estranged daughter of Lady Heather, and autopsy reveals her corpse was surgically mutilated. Messages on Zoe’s answering machine lead the CSIs to Betz Pharmaceutical, a clinic where Zoe had undergone medical testing before her disappearance. There they meet Jacob Wolfowitz, the technician who conducted Zoe’s tests. He claims Zoe came in for an overnight sleep study but left early. Her car was left in the parking lot and she has not been seen since. Ultimately, genetically modified plants and a hidden surgical bunker reveal to Grissom and the CSI team just what kind of twisted medical testing Zoe underwent. And when sinew found in Zoe’s teeth is confirmed to be her own flesh, they also learn the desperate measures she took to escape.

Things heat up for the CSIs when they arrive at the scene of a crime to find a corpse, charbroiled somewhere else, and lodged in a chimney. Homeowner Martin Sidley and his girlfriend Angie are enjoying a quiet evening by the fire, when the living room fills up with smoke. The two escape from the smoke-filled house and call the police. After examining the perimeter, Sara takes traces from a ladder found leading up to the roof, while Warrick tells Catherine that there were portraits found in Sidley’s house of a woman who went missing a year before. When questioned, Sidley states that he and the woman in his photos were mere acquaintances. She was an aspiring photographer, and he had purchased several of her self portraits. With an insufficient amount of evidence to search Sidley’s house a year before, Warrick and Catherine return to the site now that it is a crime scene; hoping to find clues related to Caroline Fitzgibbon’s mysterious disappearance.

When Sofia is called to the luxurious Omni Condos located on the glitzy Vegas strip, she finds a very harrowing situation: twenty-something Christina Hollis, delirious and hysterical, is lying outside her apartment, recently raped and unable to recall the details. When Catherine and Grissom arrive at the scene they are bombarded by hand-held cameras and a reality-television producer from a crime show. Inside the apartment there are no signs or forced entry, but the victim’s bed is in disarray, soaked with sweat and sex stains and scraps of torn, bloody duct tape cling to the headboard.

When the beloved Stacy Vollmer is found dead a high school is turned upside down. Her lifeless body was wrapped in a blood-drenched shower curtain and then dumped in a flower bed. Her cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage; meaning she fell down and hit her head. The CSIs gather at the courtroom where they meet suspect #1: Marlon West.
A search of the defendant’s home yields a laundry hamper containing bleached clothes he wore the night of the murder. Human hairs from Marlon’s sink were found to be consistent with the victim’s hair.

Grissom, Greg and Warrick find themselves in the otherworldly realm of the supernatural when they find a psychic shot to death in her occult shop. Brass rushes to the scene to find two women, Anna Leah and Lori, who met with Sedona right before her death. The women say that they fled from the occult shop when Sedona predicted a horrible fate. The shop was ransacked with broken bottles and potions all over the floor. Greg finds blood at the scene and swabs it. He also finds that the cash register is empty: meaning the crime was either a robbery or “staged” robbery. Back at the lab, Dr. Robbins finds white powder in the victim’s nasal cavities and lungs. Mandy traces the prints on the cash register to Reese Bingham, a delivery boy who used to bring the victim food. When Brass questions him, the victim says he took the money from the cash register; an order from Sedona. He states that he was at a strip club that night and that a certain stripper can vouch for him.

Grissom and Nick are called to a stretch of road, in close proximity to the strip, where three anonymous teenagers – dressed in black- are found shot to death. The teenagers appear to have climbed the palm trees and then fell to their death after bring shot. Grissom finds a staple gun at the scene, which he believes the teenagers were using to secure their posters to the palms. Dr. Robbins hypothesizes that the murder occurred via a drive-by shooting. Nick concludes that the gun used at the scene of the crime was stolen from a cop.

The CSIs find themselves in the labor of love when the mother of the groom is found dead and tied to the wedding car by her pantyhose. The victim is a high profile lawyer who was involved in a very controversial case. Naturally, the CSIs deduce that her murder was related to the case. Nick is the first to arrive at the scene, and brings his own car to transport the evidence. Once the evidence is loaded into the car, Nick, Greg and Jorja head over to a diner for a late-night snack. Meanwhile, someone steals Nick’s car, and throws the tracking-device into a dumpster a few blocks away from the diner.

When Jeff Powell is found dead on the pavement below the loading dock of the Palermo Hotel and Casino, Grissom, Catherine and Brass question what the well-dressed victim, with a key to his hotel room, was doing down there. With defensive wounds indicative of a fight before his death, and white paint traces on the body, the CSIs believe the victim had a run-in with an unsavory character. Catherine and Nick head to Powell’s hotel room, and find a long blonde hair in the bed and a duffel bag full of average-priced clothing. Catherine notes that there is blue powder trace on the edge of the victim’s jacket. A NASCAR amateur membership card is found, as well as trace amounts of cocaine. Nick and Catherine realize that the victim was living large in Vegas. In Hollywood, he drove a Toyota and shopped at department stores.

With Brass undergoing surgery after being shot in the chest, the team takes on two very strange cases without the help of their seasoned detective. Grissom is called from the hospital to the train tracks where a decapitated man in long johns is found. Peeking out of the severed neck is a bone-stump and a partially visible spinal cord clogged with oily dirt and dust. The CSIs note that the victim has an extremely small waist (19-inches). while awaiting news that Brass is ok.
